UC Application
- Don’t send official transcripts when you apply.
- UC does not require (nor read) letters of recommendation at the time of application. A select number of majors at some campuses may request them later as part of a supplemental review.
- Transfer applicants must provide responses to the Personal Insight Questions (4 short-answer prompts).

PERSONAL INSIGHT QUESTIONS:
Transfer applicants must answer one required question, and select 3 additional questions out of 7
APPLICATION FILING PERIOD:
- For fall admission, apply November 1 - 30 (the year prior to your transfer). The application is available beginning August 1, but cannot be submitted until November.
- For winter/spring admission, apply July 1 - 31 (the year prior to your transfer).
Most UC campuses do not accept winter/spring applications with the exception of UC Merced and UC Riverside. Check the list of closed majors on the UC website or contact the university's admissions office.
APPLICATION FEES:
- $70 per campus
FEE WAIVERS:
Students can apply for an application fee waiver for up to 4 UC and 4 CSU campuses. Fee waivers are available to US citizens, permanent residents, and applicants eligible for AB540 benefits. You can apply for fee waivers directly through the UC and CSU application, and will be notified of your eligibility before you submit your application.
