Apply for Private Schools
USC Application
Students must submit the Common Application and the USC Writing Supplement.
- Official final high school transcripts with date of graduation and official college transcripts with grades through the fall term are required.
- SAT/ACT scores are required only from applicants who have completed fewer than 30 semester units of college coursework.
- Letters of recommendation are optional, but may be required for some majors. Some majors may also require a supplemental application, portfolio and/or audition. Check additional requirements by major for more information. Review the Transfer application checklist
- Accepts applications for fall admission only. Application deadline is February 1 (the year you plan to transfer). Some programs in the Schools of Cinematic Arts (i.e Writing for Screen & Television), and all programs in the School of Dramatic Arts, Kaufman School of Dance, Thornton School of Music, and Iovine and Young Academy require applicants to apply by December 1.
Loyola Marymount University (LMU)
- For fall admission, November 1 (the year prior to your transfer) is the deadline for for the LMU Guaranteed Admission Agreement and early action admission. March 15 is the regular decision deadline.
- For spring admission, apply by October 15 (the year prior to your transfer).
APPLICATION FEES:
- USC: $80
- LMU: $60
FEE WAIVERS:
Many private and independent schools also offer a fee waiver program available through the Common Application or NACAC. Check with each school to verify the process for obtaining a fee waiver.
