Mission Statement:
The mission of the LACC PRIDE Center is to acknowledge, promote and advocate for our LGBTQIA+ community members and allies. with a focus on closing the achievement gaps and removing barriers to student success.
We embrace that our work is ongoing, and our language is ever evolving.
Preferred Name Process
LACC recognizes that transgender and gender non-conforming students may decide to identify themselves with a preferred name that differs from their legal first name given at birth. Students can watch this video to learn how to change their first name in the SIS system.
LGBTQIA+ Upcoming Events:
- TGI2+ Job Fair - March 27, 2025 - 10:00am - 4:00pm Student Union, Multipurpose Room, 3rd Floor. - Workshops, Resources, and Job Opportunities.
- California Community Colleges - LGBTQ+ Summit 2025 will be held virtually April 15 - 16, 2025. The Summit is a space for students, faculty, classified professionals, and administrators to focus on this year’s theme: “We are the ones we have been waiting for: The LGBTQ+ CCC Revolution.” FREE Student Registration: SUMMARY - 2025 LGBTQ+ Summit
- Pride Event on Campus - Thursday, May 29, 2025
- LACCD Annual Lavender Graduation 2025 - June 6, 2025 at 4:00pm. The graduation event will be at Los Angeles City College
