The Eugene McKnight Story
The scholarship was established in 1989 by Professor McKnight, who was chairman of the Philosophy Department. The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to a second-year student at LACC who has the potential and the desire to go on to a four year college and major in Philosophy.
Professor McKnight retired from Los Angeles City College in 1972 and moved to Dana Point, California. He began his retirement career by serving on the Citizens’ Advisory Board for Saddleback Community College until 1977. He was elected to the Saddleback’s Board of Trustees and served in that capacity from 1977 to 1985. Professor McKnight died in 1993.
