Pi-Shop (Math Tutoring)
Pi-Shop (LACC’s Mathematics Tutoring Center) opened officially in the fall of 1998. Pi-Shop has become crucial to the learning of science and mathematics and helping students to reach their academic goal, and the student success rates speak very highly for it. The vast majority of those who use the Pi-Shop pass their math classes, compared with a lower pass rate for those who take Math classes but don’t use the Pi-Shop.
Pi-Shop is a state of-the-art Mathematics Tutoring Lab that has been recognized by the State Academic Senate with an honorable mention in its competition for the “Exemplary Program Award.”
The Pi-Shop provides math tutoring services for students in all math levels, including Statistics and Mathematical Programming. Our service offers flexible tutoring options, including individual and group sessions, in-person and online, to support and enhance students' math learning.
Our Goals
By working with our experienced tutors, students can achieve significant learning outcomes, including:
- Solve mathematical problems using appropriate techniques.
- Analyze and interpret the results with the use of technology.
