LACC Datathon
The purpose of Datathon is to provide students with hands-on experience in data science, helping them build skills in coding, analyzing, and data visualization in an inclusive, collaborative environment. Students will be introduced to R Studio through a series of self-guided coding exercises, after which they will work in teams to analyze datasets. Students give presentations in order to demonstrate the ability to apply newly acquired skills in innovative and educational ways. Prior coding experience is unnecessary; we welcome interested students of all levels!
The Datathon is an annual event hosted by the LACC Mathematics department. For more information about our programs and courses, please visit the Mathematics Department.

Datathon 2024
On Saturday, November 2, 2024, the Math Department was proud to host the 1st Annual LACC Datathon competition that brought together about 80 participants, volunteers, alumni, guests, and speakers for a day of problem-solving, creativity, and learning. This event, aimed at encouraging students to develop their critical thinking skills in a competitive, collaborative environment, provided participants with the opportunity to tackle complex data analytic problems using real-world datasets and the R Studio.
