Connect with our students and staff via our chat platform. Ask questions and receive answers about LACC, Life in Los Angeles and make a new friend!
Easy-to-Follow Steps:
- After reading through the profiles under Students or Staff, select an Ambassador or Staff member to chat with
- Select "Create Your Account"
- Complete your quick profile
- Adjust your “Notification Preferences” under “Settings” to receive replies via email, SMS or What's App.
Response Time: When chatting with a student ambassador or staff, most messages will receive a quick response, but some may take up to 24 hours.

What is ISP Express Counseling?
ISP Express Counseling is a feature on Cranium Café that enables students to communicate instantly with student services personnel. Please connect with an International Student Program representative on Live Chat during the following hours:
How to Prepare for ISP Express Counseling
- Access to a computer, tablet or smartphone
- Secure internet connection
- Browser Requirement: Google Chrome or Firefox (Do not use Internet Explorer or Safari)
- Treat the ISP Express Counseling session the same as if you were going to interact with an individual on campus
Step 1: Log-in to your student portal (SIS) and select the “Online Counseling & Live Chat” tile. Then select "Online Counseling at LACC"
Step 2: Use the Canvas Login Icon (image on left hand side) and then click on Authorize

If you do not have an active Canvas account, you can request a Cranium account using "Guest Registration." Make sure to use your @student.laccd.edu email.

If you are a prospective student and don't have a student account, you may go directly to lacc.craniumcafe.com/ and use a valid email address to create an account.
Step 3: Once you have successfully logged in, you can use the student support directory to locate different student services personnel, or scroll down below to view available general counselors.
Step 4: If an individual is “online,” you will see a green circle indicating the person is available. To begin your chat, click on the box “LIVE CHAT” (some may say "Knock on Door") and a pop-up window will appear to start your session.

Cranium Café offers accessibility features for working with students with disabilities. If you use assistive technology, then it will be focused on the digital chat tool from Cranium Café, which will enable you to communicate with a wide variety of assistive technologies.
