Our first Coffee with the President for faculty and staff is scheduled for today, September 18 from 10am to 11am in the new student lounge (formerly Peets Coffee Shop). We are rescheduling the department specific Coffee with the President meeting dates so more of you can attend. Please check your email for an updated list of dates and times. I hope to see many of you this morning.
Also today is the official opening of the Dream Resource Center for staff/faculty at 10am in the Student Services Building, see below for details.
VAMA Manners: A Faculty Exhibition at the VAMA Gallery in DaVinci Hall will run through this Thursday, September 21, 2023.
TimelyCare, a virtual health provider, is now available to students providing FREE 24/7 mental health support and basic needs assistance. Students can login at the TimelyCare app or can sign up via timelycare.com/lacitycollege. Please let your students know.
LACCD and the African American Outreach Initiative are hosting the 4th Annual Welcome Back Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) event on October 24 at LAVC from 10am to 2pm. Register for the event here. For general event questions, contact Dr. Elliott Coney at @email.
LACC’s Cinema 60 short film collaboration project between Cinema/TV and Theater Arts, VLA, has been awarded “Best TV Series” and “Best Director” from the Los Angeles Film Awards. LACC will be screening VLA on September 27. More information to follow.
LACCD is hosting its 9th Annual LACCD disABILITY Summit on Friday, October 27 at LAHC from 8am to 2:30pm. RSVP at bit.ly/2qyUQRN.
Open Health Plan Enrollment officially begins today and runs through October 13. During this time, you can review your health coverage and shop for new plans.
Tomorrow, September 19, is National Voter Registration Day and I want to encourage those who are not yet registered to register to vote. You can register at https://nationalvoterregistrationday.org/register-to-vote/.
