I want to thank everyone who attended the Los Angeles Black Expo held at LACC this past weekend. It was a celebration of culture, community and opportunity filled with a wide variety of workshops, exhibitors and discussions.
This Thursday, we will host a special King Sejong Statue Unveiling at 11am near Franklin Hall.
The Imperial Cultural Foundation donated the statue, and we will also celebrate Hangeul Day (October 9) commemorating the invention and proclamation of the Korean alphabet. LACCD Chancellor Francisco Rodriguez, LACCD Board Trustee Nichelle Henderson and many other community leaders are scheduled to attend.
TimelyCare, a virtual health provider, is now available to students providing FREE 24/7 mental health support and basic needs assistance. Students can login at the TimelyCare app or can sign up via timelycare.com/lacitycollege. Please let your students know.
LACCD and the African American Outreach Initiative are hosting the 4th Annual Welcome Back Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) event on October 24 at LAVC from 10am to 2pm. For general event questions, contact Dr. Elliott Coney at @email.
LACCD is hosting its 9th Annual LACCD disABILITY Summit on Friday, October 27 at LAHC from 8am to 2:30pm. RSVP at bit.ly/3qyUQRN.
Open Health Plan Enrollment runs through October 13. During this time, you can review your health coverage and shop for new plans.
EOPS is accepting applications for the fall 2023 semester! Eligible students are encouraged to apply to take advantage of priority registration, academic counseling, tutoring, book and meal vouchers, school supplies, college tours, graduation cap and gown, and much more!
