October 14, 2024

Good Monday Morning,

Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! Today we celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a national holiday celebrating Native American customs and heritage.

This week concludes National Hispanic Heritage Month. We held a wide variety of events including our inaugural LGBTQ+N Festival, the first literary festival dedicated to bringing together Spanish and Latin American writers who explore and celebrate sexual diversity in their works.

Last week LACC’s ASG hosted two important Student Voting Registration drives to register students to vote for the upcoming election. LACC will house a voting center from November 2 through November 5 in the Student Union, 3rd floor Multipurpose Room. Please encourage your students to vote.

Mark your calendars for October 21 and October 28, when we will host an “Understanding Money” free class. The class will cover ways to get out of debt and build savings, simple investments for a better financial future, 401k’s and IRAs and how to create a financial plan. The classes will be held at noon in the Student Union Multipurpose Room. Students can register at

https://www.understandingmoneyclass.net/privateregistration.php?classid=27X1ud79cs7p.

Our LACC Foundation gala will be held on October 23 at the Skirball Cultural Center, you can buy tickets at https://donate.laccfoundation.org/gala-2024-emeriti.

Please remember to submit your events on the event calendar so we can highlight all the great work happening at LACC. Editors and contributors can submit events at
