This Week @ City - November 4

November 4, 2024

By LACC

Good Monday Morning,

Yesterday marked Daylight Saving Time, as clocks were set back an hour at 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

Next Monday, November 11, the campus will be closed in honor of Veterans Day.

The district Board of Trustees sent out a memo announcing the recommendation for Dr. Alberto Roman, current president of ELAC, to serve as the Interim Chancellor for the LACCD, to begin November 7, 2024 for a one-year appointment.

I'm happy to report an increase of 6% in headcount and 8% in enrollment in credit classes at LACC for Fall 2024 when compared to Fall 2023.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Facilities-WEC Townhall last week and to all our Facilities staff who keep our campus and classrooms clean and safe.

Our Voting Center, located in the Student Union, MPR, will be open today from 10am to 7pm and tomorrow from 7am to 8pm. Please encourage your students to vote.

We will be hosting a Day of Gratitude on November 12 and will have more information about this event shortly.

Please mark your calendar for Wednesday, December 4, from 1 pm to 3 pm. We will be hosting a training on how to add/edit items for our website. Faculty and staff are invited. The training will be held in the MPR.
