Meeting with the Title IX Coordinator

Resources

The Title IX coordinator may give you information on your rights, options, and other resources available to you. Although you may choose not to share details, the Title IX Coordinator may provide the best assistance with more information.

What Happens Next?

You may choose whether to make a complaint. Even if you do not choose to make a complaint, the College may investigate and/or take other measures, depending on the nature of the misconduct reported.

You may reveal that an incident of Sexual Misconduct took place, but request that no action be taken against the respondent (alleged offender). You may still file a complaint at a later time.

What Happens Next?

  • The college will consider your request to take no action, but it may determine that doing so could be too dangerous or disruptive to the campus community.
  • If the college decides to take action, an investigation into the incident will begin, and the process will continue as if a formal report has been made.
  • If the college decides not to take action, a record of the complaint will still be kept if you should choose to proceed further. The college can offer arrangements for your safety and comfort, though none that would directly affect the offender.
  • In either case, you will always be informed before any action takes place.

You may reveal that an incident of Sexual Misconduct took place, and request that the college take action against the respondent.

What Happens Next?

  • If necessary, you will be offered arrangements to ensure that you are safe from the respondent, which can include changing your class and/or work schedule, directing the parties to stay away from each other, and many other options.
  • If you wish to have a college-provided advisor, you will be provided with one.
  • If the incident does not rise to the level of being a Title IX complaint, your complaint may be referred to another office or unit. Otherwise, the LACCD Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will conduct an investigation.
  • If the investigation report concludes that misconduct has occurred, the College will conduct appropriate due process procedures to pursue discipline, which will vary depending on the status of the respondent as a student, employee, contractor, and/or community member.
