No, it’s a districtwide policy that there is no credit by exam for any of the language classes.
1 year of high school = 1 semester of college
Total semester units toward AA: 6 units
Semester units applied toward AA GE requirements (E-REG 110): 3 units
Please visit Academic Counseling in the Student Services Building, 2nd floor, to meet with a counselor.

To receive a Certificate of Achievement 4 out of the required 16 units must be completed with LACC campus courses.
To receive a degree 12 out of the required 18 units must be completed with LACC campus courses.
Please note that you must file a petition for approval in order for these classes to be counted toward your educational goal.

Most of our department's courses are being offered online in these formats:
- Asynchronous format: requires students to work online independently each week for the amount of TBA time shown in addition to completing assigned homework (i.e. no Zoom meetings).
- Blended format: requires students to be online and interacting with their instructor during the times shown and to work online independently each week for the amount of TBA time shown in addition to completing assigned homework (i.e. some required Zoom meetings, 1.5-2.5 hrs per week).
- Synchronous format: requires students to be online and interact with their instructor during the times shown in the class schedule in addition to completing assigned homework (i.e. Zoom meetings required, 3-5 hours per week).

You will need to submit a petition to receive your certificate.
Please Note: It may take up to a full semester for your request to be processed. Your certificate will be conferred on your transcript.
