Student-Athlete Study Hall at the Learning Center

Here's how to drop in for a Student-Athlete Study Hall at the Learning Center (Writing Center/AD 100):

1. Check in & check out (front kiosk): Check in and check out at the Student-Athlete Study Hall Kiosk at the front desk in AD 100. This is how your Study Hall minutes are tracked, so please make sure to check in at the beginning of your session and check out at the end of your session. If you forget to check out, your minutes may not be logged correctly.
2. Let us know what you're working on (QR code): Scan the QR code on this website or in the Writing Center to submit the "What I'm Working on Today" form to let us know what you'll be working on during your Study Hall session.
3. Study productively: During your Study Hall session, you're required to be working on classwork. Be prepared to show a tutor what you're working on at any time. We may cancel your session if you're not studying. Please limit talking and phone use.
4. Get help from a tutor: Let us know if you need help with anything at all! Writing tutors are standing by, and can help you with things like writing & grammar, Canvas, Microsoft Word, note-taking, memorization techniques, reading strategies, and more. If you'd like to get individualized tutoring help for writing, math, or general tutoring program subjects (anatomy, chemistry, communications, music, or physiology), just let us know and we'll help connect you with a tutor (see below for more info).

Checking Your Student-Athlete Study Hall and Tutoring Minutes

Tutoring center attendance reports are provided to LACC coaches each week. Your Study Hall minutes are combined with any tutoring minutes you received from Writing Center, Math Pi Shop, or General Tutoring tutors in individual tutoring sessions. To check your minutes, please email: writingsupport@lacitycollege.edu or inquire at the front desk in AD 100.
